Therese Byrne LAc, LMT is an acupuncturist and massage therapist. She is the CEO and Owner of Happy Sunflower Acupuncture in Wooster, Ohio. At her practice, she strives to help each patient achieve optimum health and wellness. Therese Byrne LAc, LMT performs a wide variety of services, including acupuncture treatment, Swedish massage therapy, deep tissue massage, prenatal massage, foot and hand reflexology, as well as several other therapies.

Therese Byrne LAc, LMT is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). The NCCAOM is a non-profit organization in the United States that aims to “establish, assess, and promote recognized standards of competence and safety in acupuncture and Oriental medicine for the protection and benefit of the public.”

Therese Byrne LAc, LMT graduated from the Master’s Level Acupuncture program at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. It is the only program of its kind in Ohio, and one of the only acupuncture education programs in the Midwest.

Therese Byrne’s background includes training not only in acupuncture, but also in a wide array of Chinese medicine modalities. Therese Byrne LAc, LMT is a member of the Ohio Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. The Ohio Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is the voice of Licensed Acupuncturists in the state of Ohio to advance the ethical practice of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  

Therese Byrne LAc, LMT attributes her success to seeing the benefits of acupuncture firsthand. She turned to acupuncture as a last resort to help her postpartum symptoms, restless leg syndrome, and insomnia. Now, she practices acupuncture on others to relieve their symptoms.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. It is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine that is used to prevent and treat disease, relieve pain, balance mood, enhance athletic performance, increase fertility, as well as improve overall health and wellness. As an acupuncturist, Therese Byrne LAc consults with each patient about their symptoms, diagnoses the issue according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, and treats it using acupuncture needles and other tools. She aims to improve the body’s functions and to promote the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites – commonly referred to as acupuncture points or acupoints.
