Throughout his academic career, Dr. Guzman earned his medical degree from the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. After relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, and his fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
