Dr. Lakshmi Mitreyi Gorugantula, BDS, MS, MSD, is an Oral Medicine Specialist and an Oral & Maxillofacial Radiologist, practicing with the team of Periodontists at North Dallas Dental Health.

Dr. Gorugantula specializes in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of TMJ problems, muscle and nerve pain in the head and neck region, infections in the mouth, oral ulcers, auto-immune conditions and their oral manifestations, dry mouth, burning mouth disorder, snoring and sleep apnea etc, and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice. She is also skilled in evaluating different dental radiographic modalities, cone-beam CT, head & neck CT, and TMJ evaluation using MRI.

Dr. Gorugantula began her journey in dentistry by earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree in India. She then continued her education in the United States, obtaining a Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M School of Dentistry, and later at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where she completed a Master of Science in Dentistry in Oral Medicine and a Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology programs.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology, and the American Academy of Oral Medicine, which allow her to stay current with the latest advancements in oral health care.
