Get to know Pediatric Radiologist Dr. Kristi Bogan, who serves patients in Akron, Ohio.

A dedicated pediatric radiologist, Dr. Bogan is the Chief Medical Officer at Akron Children’s Hospital in Ohio. Her expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of procedures, ranging from biopsies and joint injections to angiography and the treatment of vascular malformations. Her approach is centered on providing minimally invasive solutions for pediatric patients, aiming for faster recovery times and minimizing pain and scarring risks compared to traditional surgical methods.

Throughout her academic career, she first attended the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara, immersing herself in the culture and language for two and a half enriching years. Graduating early from Ross University, she then pursued a five-year residency in radiology at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, affiliated with the Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.

Returning to her hometown of Dallas, Dr. Bogan further honed her skills with an additional two years of specialized training in pediatric diagnostic radiology and pediatric interventional radiology at The University of Texas Southwestern.

Board certified in pediatric radiology and diagnostic radiology, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

In order to remain up to date in her field, she is an active member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American College of Radiology, the Society for Pediatric Radiology, the Society for Interventional Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Society for Pediatric Interventional Radiology, the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies, and the American Society for Laser and Medicine in Surgery.

Pediatric radiology is a subspecialty of radiology involving the imaging of fetuses, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Many pediatric radiologists practice at children’s hospitals.

Currently calling Akron home, Dr. Bogan finds solace in the company of her two corgis, Asscher and Sophie. Beyond her demanding role as a pediatric diagnostic and interventional radiologist, she has embraced a multifaceted lifestyle. Driven by her creative side, she indulges in hobbies such as cooking and painting, finding relaxation and inspiration in these expressive outlets.

Remarkably, her passion extends beyond the medical realm. In Stow, Ohio, she is actively involved in a part-time entrepreneurial venture in adult aesthetics. This unique pursuit allows her to seamlessly integrate her procedural expertise with her creative inclinations, showcasing a holistic approach to her career.
