He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 1999.
Furthering his training in the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at UCLA-VA Greater Los Angeles in 2003, where he was voted Resident of the Year for three consecutive years. He followed this up with a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center until 2006.
Board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine, and internal medicine, Dr. Vadgama is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
In addition, he is board certified in sleep medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM). The ABSM is a nonprofit organization that certifies physicians, PhDs, specialists, and technologists in the specialty of sleep medicine.
