Dr. Robinson is a talented, fellowship-trained vascular surgeon who has been appointed Program Director of the University of Miami at Holy Cross General Surgery Residency Program in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Concurrently, he serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery within the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. 

The University of Miami at Holy Cross General Surgery Residency Program brings in the resources and experience of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine together with the award-winning clinical environment of Holy Cross Hospital. Together with the Internal Medicine and Transitional Year Residency Programs, the Holy Cross Campus of the University of Miami Graduate Medical Education Programs provides an alternative teaching and learning environment to the traditional residency experience. 

The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery has assembled a group of physicians, nurses, and staff dedicated to providing compassionate state-of-the-art medical care. They are committed to advancing the field of vascular surgery through innovation, research, and training.

Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Robinson served as Chief of the Vascular Surgery Division at Mercy Medical Group/Dignity Health in Sacramento, California for two years. Before that, he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for five years. 

Throughout his academic career, he received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Albany in New York and his medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, where he also served as a teaching assistant and completed his surgical internship. He then completed a residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, followed by a fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of Albany / Albany Medical Center..

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in both general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery. 

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.
