Dr. Elliott has abundant experience working with individuals struggling with symptoms of depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, severe mental illness, co-occurring substance use, and health-related issues impacting mental health. During her pre-doctoral internship, Dr. Elliott ran several group therapy classes, such as Anger Management, Substance Abuse, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), CBT for Depression, CBT for Psychosis, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Dr. Elliott spearheaded a class on Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD at SQSP. Dr. Elliott has a passion for teaching, making information understandable and applicable.
Dr. Elliott's clinical training focused on generalist training, with a certification in Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (F-ACT) and Trauma Informed Care. Dr. Elliott's philosophy is there are no problems, only puzzles. Dr. Elliott approaches patients with a sense of curiosity and desires to help them make sense of their experiences and works to empower her patients to become active authors in their life story. Drawing from stoicism, Dr. Elliott believes that well-being requires small steps though it is no small thing and that it needs to be available to all. It's that mindset that keeps Dr. Elliott passionate about her work.
