In 2004, after obtaining her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Jaffna’s Faculty of Medicine in Sri Lanka, Dr. Sriganesh relocated to the United States. Once there, she completed her residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital in 2014, followed by her fellowship in cardiology at Maimonides Medical Center in 2017. During her Residency and Fellowship years, she was recognized as an outstanding physician and elected as a Chief Resident. After the completion of her Cardiology Fellowship, she decided to join as a Noninvasive Cardiologist at Northwell Health as it is renowned for its excellence in providing quality health care.
Her passion in medicine started in her childhood after her only sister passed away at the age of 18 due to heart disease. Her goal is to provide patient-centered health care and assist patients to make informed decisions, thereby actively involving themselves in their own health and well- being. She strongly believes that “Prevention is better than cure” and specifically focuses on preventive cardiology. She also strongly advocates for women’s health.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Sriganesh is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), National Board of Echocardiography, Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology and Lipidology by the National Lipid Association.
