Get to know Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist Dr. Brian Wagner, who serves patients in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Dr. Wagner is a highly trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist in practice with Healthcare Services in New York – Poughkeepsie Oakwood Campus.

Graduating with his undergraduate degree from Concordia College in 1995, Dr. Wagner went on to earn his medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2000. He then performed his internship at New York University Downtown Hospital in 2001, his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in 2004, and his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in 2007.

Committed to patient-centered care, he is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.

Licensed to practice medicine in New York, Pennsylvania, and Florida, Dr. Wagner is affiliated with Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Mount Sinai West.

A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, he is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

Maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) is a branch of medicine that focuses on managing health concerns of the mother and fetus prior to, during, and shortly after pregnancy. Maternal-fetal medicine specialists are physicians who subspecialize within the field of obstetrics. For pregnant women with chronic health problems, MFM specialists work to keep them as healthy as possible while their bodies go through changes. They also care for women who face unexpected problems that develop during pregnancy such as early labor, bleeding or high blood pressure. 

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Wagner has been the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2020, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2014, 2009, 2008), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2020, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2014), and On-Time Doctor Award (2020, 2018, 2017, 2016).

On a more personal note, he speaks both English and Spanish.
