Specializing in Microsurgery, Supermicrosurgery and complex reconstructive surgeries, some of the treatments and services that she offers include breast cancer reconstruction, lymphedema, amputation-associated pain syndromes, abdominal wall reconstruction, microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques, and complex reconstructive surgery.
Academically, Dr. Bishop graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Music and her Master’s degree in Music from Ball State University in 2003 and 2006, respectively. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree (Pre-Medical Preparation) from Ball State University, and her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2010.
Furthering her education, she completed her general surgery residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore (New York) in 2016. She worked as a post-doctoral research fellow in Stanford University in Dr Geoffrey Gurtner’s laboratory. She followed this up with a fellowship in plastic surgery at Mayo Clinic in 2019, and a fellowship in microsurgery at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2020. She also spent time with legendary microsurgeon Dr Hung Chi Chen in Taiwan in 2019.
With a commitment to surgical excellence, she attained board certification through the American Board of Surgery, which is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
