How do I strengthen my back scoliosis?
The proper way to correct a scoliosis will depend on the origin/cause. There is functional scoliosis vs. structural scoliosis. With functional, you identify the reason for the curvature (elevated hips, tight hip flexors etc.) and correct it. With structural, the bones/joints have been formed incorrectly and thus cannot complete be resolved at 33 however you can help relieve some of the symptoms by stretching the side you lean to and strengthening the opposite side. How can I check my posture?
When checking basic posture there are two views you want to look from; head on and from the side. Head on is easy, look at yourself in the mirror (ideally full length) and use a systematic approach looking joint by joint to make sure they are level and even. Look for head shifting side to side, shoulders level, hips level, knees even etc. In order to evaluate from the side you’ll need to either set up a camera with a timer or have someone take a photo of you from the side. Again take a joint by joint approach looking to see if your head is forward or back, are you leaning forward/back, any excessive spinal curvatures, etc. READ MORE

Why does my lower back crack?
The popping noise that you hear is called a “cavitation” and is the release of nitrogen gas from the joint fluid and joint capsule. The nitrogen builds up over time and has enough pressure to cause an audible sound about every 15 mins. Various things like posture, muscle tightness (or even very flexible people), misalignments or certain movements can cause the release of the nitrogen. Dr. Latza READ MORE
Is chiropractic treatment safe for babies?
Chiropractic care is just as safe (and just as necessary) for kids and babies as it is for adults! Techniques are modified to account for the smaller joints and to use less force. We usually have kids start to come to the office with their parent(s) before their first treatment so they can get used to the setting and start to add on small treatments. Kids love it! Chiropractic care can definitely help with sleep apnea. In our office we also address all of the muscles. By keeping muscles in these areas loose we can help remove the above listed issues as well as help with sleep postures. Dr. Latza READ MORE
