Get to know Hematologist and Medical Oncologist Dr. Xuan Huang, who serves patients throughout the State of Ohio.

Dr. Huang, a skilled and knowledgeable hematologist & medical oncologist, has dedicated herself to the diagnosis and treatment of the hematologic disorder, cancer, and cancer-related conditions for the communities of northeast Ohio. She can be found on staff at UH Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, Ohio. 

A firm believer in a comprehensive approach to beauty and wellness, she is also the Medical Director of Huang Aesthetics with offices in Chardon, Chagrin Falls, and Beachwood, Ohio. The practice offers an extensive list of services for both men and women who may be battling unsightly acne and body hair, struggling with weight gain and sleep disturbance, or those simply wishing to preserve the natural beauty and slow the signs of aging without having to undergo plastic surgery. It is there that Dr. Huang aims to integrate the very latest in state-of-the-art technology and her passion and knowledge in aesthetic medicine with her personal touch to ensure that each patient receives an individualized, specially tailored treatment plan. 

The doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

A 2006 graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Huang went on to complete her observership in hematology/oncology at Westchester Medical Center. This was followed by a residency in internal medicine at Richmond University Medical Center in 2009, a fellowship in hematology at the National Heart, Lung, And Blood Institute in 2011, and a fellowship in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute in 2012. 

At present, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Division of Hematology and Oncology of the Department of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is also an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians, the American Med Spa Association, and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (of which she is certified to practice aesthetic medicine). 

Among her various achievements, Dr. Huang has authored many articles in peer-reviewed journals, as well as cited book chapters. She frequently speaks at community symposiums such as Women’s Expo, Bra for the Cause, and National Forum and has served as a panelist in national conferences. She has also served on the Cancer Committee and Breast Cancer Committee at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center for the past many years.

Deeply understanding of the needs of the local community and that of the people’s lives in the community, she established the Geauga Seidman Cancer Center Patient Support Fund, aiming to support patients in their journey with cancer treatment. 

Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Hematologists are medical practitioners who specialize in treating conditions of the blood. Their primary responsibilities include testing and diagnosing patients, treating diseases such as anemia or hemophilia, and prescribing medications or dietary advice.

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A medical professional who practices oncology is an oncologist. An oncologist is a doctor who treats cancer and provides medical care for a person diagnosed with cancer. They lead a cancer treatment team of various healthcare professionals, treat patients with radiation therapy, coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as assist patients with pain management.

Fluent in both English and Chinese, Dr. Huang is a recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award by Vitals.com.
