Dr. Morium Akthar practices Pulmonory and Critical Care Medicine in Glen Ridge, NJ. She is triple board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine. Dr. Akthar manages patients who need life support and mechanical ventilation, and is specially trained in diseases and conditions of the chest, particularly acute and chronic respiratory failure, pneumonia, asthma, tuberculosis, emphysema, complicated chest infections, pulmonary nodules, pulmonary fibrosis, and performs bronchoscopies and other pulmonary and critical care procedures. She also treats patients with allergic mediated respiratory conditions and administers biologic medications. She works in collaboration with various other specialties such as thoracic surgery, allergy, immunology, rheumatology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, and internal medicine, and has a strong relationship with many local physicians and a great referral base. Dr. Akthar obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. She he completed residency in internal medicine and fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine, both from New Jersey Medical School as well. Dr. Akthar has an excellent knowledge base and solid training.
