Get to know Physician Assistant Dr. Mia Gatti, who serves patients in California.

A board-certified physician assistant, Dr. Gatti is affiliated with the Coast Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center in Laguna Beach, California. Her specialties include general dermatology, the diagnosis and early detection of skin cancer, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.

Coast Dermatology & Laser Surgery Center has been providing cosmetic and medical dermatology to patients in Laguna Beach and the surrounding areas, such as Laguna Niguel and Monarch Beach, since 1989. Their board-certified dermatologists provide cosmetic dermatology services such as dermal fillers, injectables, vein removal and skin tightening. In addition, they provide the Laguna Beach community with medical dermatology treatment options for skin conditions including: skin cancer MOHS surgery, skin rashes, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, acne and more.

Knowing she wanted to work in the medical field from a young age, Dr. Gatti decided to follow medicine as a career path, so she could positively impact patients’ lives and the healthcare industry. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine from the University of Tampa, and received her Certificate of Completion as a certified nursing assistant from Florida Medical.

Subsequently, she completed her Science Prerequisites for the Physician Assistant Program at St. Petersburg College, and earned her Master of Medical Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Nova Southeastern University. Finally, she received her Doctor of Medical Science degree with an emphasis on Clinical Research from the University of Lynchburg, graduating with highest honors.

Not only has her career path choice been rewarding for her, but she knows that her effort in modern medicine is a beacon of light for each of her patients. Dermatology allows Dr. Gatti a variety of ways to help her patients be happy and feels very blessed to be able to care for them.

A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. They examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests. In most cases, they work under the supervision of physicians or surgeons, but they can work more independently in some states, rural areas, and inner-city areas, consulting with physicians only when they need help with cases.
