Get to know Chiropractor Dr. Victor Ifeanyi Abadom, who serves patients in Columbia, Maryland.

Recognized as a Top Chiropractor in 2023, Dr. Abadom is the Clinic Director of The Joint Chiropractic in Columbia, Maryland. He is interested in treating various conditions, including low back pain, neck pain, headaches, and sports injuries.

From pediatric patients as young as 4 to teens, adults, seniors, and pregnant patients, Dr. Abadom treats a wide range of patients in Columbia. He gets no greater satisfaction than seeing someone come into the chiropractic clinic in pain and immediately leave with a smile on their face, knowing they’re on the path to better health and have a professional that will listen to and guide them. With each chiropractic adjustment he delivers, he aims to help the spine get back to normal alignment.

The Joint Chiropractic was originally founded in 1999 by a Doctor of Chiropractic with a vision to transform the traditional, often misunderstood concept of routine chiropractic care by making it more convenient, friendly and affordable. In March 2010, the practice was re-founded with the acquisition of the original eight franchised clinics.

Today, The Joint Chiropractic has grown to a nationwide network of more than 800+ chiropractic offices and counting. It is a leader in delivering chiropractic care, performing more than four million spinal adjustments a year.

Born and raised in Howard County, Maryland, Dr. Abadom graduated with his high school diploma from Glenelg High School in 2009. He then went on to complete his undergraduate degree at Widener University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Science and Environmental Science.

It was while playing football for Widener University that Dr. Abadom developed his passion for chiropractic care. His early interest includes philanthropy work demonstrated by his founding of the first annual Day of Service for his college.

Furthering his education, Dr. Abadom earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from New York Chiropractic College in 2017. He completed his clinician rotations in the integrated Seneca Falls Health Center in New York State, as well as the Rochester VA Hospital.

Dr. Abadom chose chiropractic care after shadowing a family friend who owned a practice in Mount Airy, Maryland. It was one of those moments that he immediately knew this was his calling. He loved the one-on-one interaction he had with each patient but mostly seeing the immediate neck or low back pain relief they received when they left.

Improving quality of life by restoring proper joint motion, Dr. Abadom is board-certified through the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and certified through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

His professional certificates include Functional Gait Assessment, Sacral Occipital Technique, Sports Management and Injuries, and Thompson Drop Technique. He mainly uses Diversified as well as instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques, including the Activator Method Chiropractic Adjustment.

Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that mainly deals with the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine. A chiropractor uses spinal adjustments, manipulation, and other techniques to manage patients’ health concerns, including neck pain, back pain, headaches, vertigo and a long list of other ailments and conditions. They aim to improve patients’ functionality and quality of life by properly aligning the body’s musculoskeletal structure and enabling the body to heal itself naturally, without the use of medication or surgery.

Bringing education and empowerment to his community, Dr. Abadom is involved with the Howard County Chamber of Commerce.

His favorite quote that he lives by was from his 7th-grade teacher: “Good better best, never let it rest, till your good gets better, better best.”
