Educated in the United States, Dr. Bruening graduated with his high school diploma from Trinity High School, Camp Hill in 2009. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2013, and his Master’s degree in BioMedical Science with a concentration in Forensic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2015.

Furthering his education, he graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2018, after which he performed his residency in internal medicine at UPMC Harrisburg in 2021.

That same year, Dr. Bruening attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM). The AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults.

Holding certifications, he is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.

In addition, he is an active member of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.
