Get to know Physician Assistant Hany Youssef, who serves patients in Staten Island, New York.

Hany is a physician assistant who is affiliated with Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York, which is a 470+ bed healthcare facility and teaching institution serving borough residents as a leader in the areas of acute, medical and surgical care, including emergency care, surgery, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, gastroenterology, cardiology, pediatrics, podiatry, endocrinology, urology, oncology, orthopedics, neonatal intensive care, and maternal health. Hany specializes in surgical subspecialties, including neurosurgery, orthopedics, and urology. His duties include scrubbing as a first assistant in surgical procedures, as well as carrying out consultations in the emergency department. He also provides pre- and post-operative care and stabilization to patients in the surgical intensive care unit, as well as to those managed on the surgical floor. 

Hany is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, which is the national professional society for PAs and advocates. The Academy educates on behalf of the profession and the patients PAs serve. Hany earned his Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wagner College in 2016. Hany attributes his success to hard work, dedication, and persistence. 

A physician assistant is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with or under the supervision of a physician, depending on state laws. Physicians do not need to be on-site with PAs and collaboration or supervision often occurs via electronic means when consults are necessary.
