Get to know Neurologist Dr. Srikanth Damodaram, who serves patients in Katy, Texas.

A highly trained neurologist, Dr. Damodaram sees patients at UTHealth Neurosciences-Katy in Texas, a comprehensive program known for its clinical, academic, and research-based approach, delivering a full spectrum of neuroscience care.

Driven by the goal of providing compassionate, high-quality care, Dr. Damodaram places a strong emphasis on effective communication regarding treatment and patient well-being. His clinical interests encompass general neurology, electromyography, electroencephalography, and neurotoxin injection for intervention therapy. 

Holding an academic position, he serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

Educated in India, Dr. Damodaram received his Medical Degree from Osmania Medical College. He then relocated to the United States, completing his Master’s Degree in Biology from Missouri State University in Springfield. 

Thereafter, Dr. Damodaram completed residency training in neurology at Saint Louis University, and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.

Board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology, the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

Prior to joining UTHealth Houston Neurosciences, Dr. Damodaram served as a general neurologist at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in College Station, Texas. 

His research has been featured in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented on a wide range of topics, including cryptogenic stroke and its treatment strategies, as well as clinical aspects of pain.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.
