Get to know Neurosurgeon Dr. Anil Nair, who serves patients throughout the States of New Jersey and New York.

Dr. Nair is a board-certified and fellowship-trained neurosurgeon at IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics, specializing in neurovascular and endovascular neurosurgery.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2004, Dr. Nair went on to complete an internship in general surgery, a residency in neurosurgery, and a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery at Albany Medical Center in New York. This was followed by a fellowship in neurovascular surgery and endovascular surgery at Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 

The doctor is professionally affiliated with the following: the American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Cerebrovascular Section, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery.

A Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, he is board-certified in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.

In addition to having conducted over 10 publications, Dr. Nair has performed over two dozen presentations and published abstracts on various topics within his specialties. He has participated in several research projects within his specialties as well. Furthermore, he has

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons are doctors who diagnose and treat problems with the nervous system, often by performing surgery on the brain or spine. They treat strokes, tumors, cervical and lumbar disc disease, infections, and head or spinal cord injuries.

In his spare time, Dr. Nair enjoys traveling, scuba diving, skiing, and exploring the region.
