Get to know Acupuncturist Dr. Pamela (Yewong) Hall, who serves patients in Owings Mills, Maryland.
A seasoned acupuncturist, Dr. Hall works with patients at her private practice – Mafa Holistic – in Owings Mills, Maryland. Her life has been shaped by her own experiences with healing and a passion for holistic and natural remedies.
As a child, she suffered a serious burn accident and was told by a doctor that she would never be able to use her hands again. However, her maternal grandmother, a native of Louisiana, used natural remedies on her hands and encouraged her to believe in her “healing hands.”
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Baltimore, Dr. Hall pursued various paths in the healing arts, including becoming a licensed Esthetician, opening a natural haircare salon and spa, and becoming a Reiki Master and Tantra Instructor. However, her father’s dying wish for her to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a doctor led her to enroll at Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2014.
Subsequently, she completed the Masters of Oriental Medicine, Masters of Acupuncture, and Doctor of Oriental Medicine programs in just three years, becoming the first student to do so. Her passion for natural healing led her to perform and publish a case study proving the Efficacy of Acupuncture as a Viable Treatment for Mild Depressive Episodes.
On a more personal note, Dr. Hall is proud of her Mississippi Delta heritage and her 99.97% DNA match for the Mafa People of Northwest Cameroon. She was even bestowed the name Yewong (Queen Mother) by the Kings of NW Cameroon during a traditional naming ceremony. She was then elevated to Royal status and made a member of the Royal Council. As of 2023, Dr. Hall is the Executive Producer, writer and host of, Your Qi Spot, a new talk show on Destiny Vibes Network, a new streaming platform where she will discuss all things pertaining to life and health and a faculty member of Five Seasons Learning, an online educational platform. Of all of her many accomplishments, she believes her greatest achievements are being the mother of her three beautiful children and grandmother of one.
Acupuncture is a form of holistic medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique in which thin needles are inserted into the body often with electro-stimulation which gently increases blood circulation, stimulates the nervous system, and reduces inflammation. Acupuncture is also used to maintain general health and well-being. Acupuncturists treat a variety of health concerns including women’s health & fertility, autoimmune disorders, digestive disorders, joint & muscle pain, insomnia, and emotional concerns such as stress management, anxiety & depression.
