From a young age, Dr. Mawaldi was drawn to the art of dentistry. His passion for crafting brilliant smiles was sparked in his teens when he got his braces done. Although his teeth were straight, he realized that a beautiful grin consists of so much more than perfectly aligned pearly whites. Today, as a board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Mawaldi is changing lives by going beyond straightening teeth. He’s proudly serving Midlothian patients with unmatched experience and highly personalized care. Dr. Mawaldi earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and began his career as a general dentist. He became deeply passionate about the cosmetic facet of his practice and worked as a consultant for Ivoclar Vivadent, a renowned international company for cosmetic dentistry. He achieved his Certificate of Cranio Dental Maxillofacial Orthopedics at the France University of Bourgogne, where he gained extensive knowledge in facial aesthetics, facial harmony, and facial components. Harnessing an array of advanced clinical methods, he received his Certificate in Orthodontics at the State University of New York in Buffalo, where he also taught as a clinical professor for 10 years.
Demonstrating the highest standard of commitment and care in his field, Dr. Mawaldi holds a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a certified smile designer and a member of the Virginia Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), and World Federation of Orthodontics (WFO). Dr. Mawaldi constantly excels at the art of orthodontics through continuing education, publishing articles related to his field, and lecturing students around the globe.
