Dr. Albanese is a highly regarded physician assistant at Hackensack Meridian Health and Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he brings a wealth of expertise and dedication to his practice and teaching. In addition to his clinical role, he serves as the Coordinator of Assessment & Remediation and Assistant Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, imparting knowledge and skills to the next generation of healthcare professionals.

With a specialization in emergency room medicine, he actively engages in providing the highest quality care in high-pressure situations at a fast pace. His academic journey includes earning two Bachelor’s degrees, first in Biology from Alvernia University in 2009, and second in Health Science in 2011. He concomitantly obtained a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Touro University in 2011, followed by the completion of his Doctorate of Medical Science from the University of Lynchburg in 2023. He then went on to obtain three post-doctoral certifications in Healthcare Administration, Executive Leadership, and Medical Education. He has previous experience in Trauma surgery & critical care medicine, rapid response, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and urgent care medicine. John exemplifies a commitment to ongoing professional development.

On a professional level, Dr. Albanese is affiliated with prestigious groups such as the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Associates, the Society of Emergency Medicine PA’s, and the Physician Assistant Education Association. His contributions to these organizations have been instrumental in shaping best practices and fostering collaboration within the healthcare community.

Within the Hackensack Meridian Health network, he holds hospital affiliations with Hackensack University Medical Center, in Hackensack, NJ, a local urgent care, Medrite, and telehealth, where he continues to make a positive impact on patient care and outcomes. His outstanding work has been recognized through accolades, such as being named the New Jersey Physician Assistant of the Year in 2017, and served as the Vice President of the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants in 2018, a testament to his unwavering dedication and clinical acumen.
