Dr. Islam is a gifted, well-rounded, and respected family physician striving to help his patients in every way and please his Creator.

Licensed to practice medicine in the states of Missouri and Illinois, he is affiliated with SSM Health St. Clare Hospital – Fenton, SSM Health DePaul Hospital – St. Louis, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and HSHS Holy Family Hospital in Greenville.

“I feel that I haven’t had a “best day as a doctor” that stands out, because almost every day that I provide care to my patients is a good day for me. When I have an impact on how my patient’s life has improved, whether it is in the inpatient setting or in the clinic setting, I consider it a win” expressed Dr. Islam.

Growing up in Fenton, Missouri, he graduated with his medical degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine in 2014. He then went on to perform his residency in family medicine at the said establishment 2015 until 2018.

“I chose UMKC Family Medicine because of the great training that it gives for its residents and the fact that it has the best of both worlds as a University-affiliated program and a community hospital. The fact that it was an unopposed program with excellent attending physicians and specialists supervising and supporting the residents was a bonus. Furthermore, I also appreciated the amazing camaraderie between all the residents and even the faculty. And finally, I admired the long history that the UMKC Family Medicine Residency Program has in training kind and caring physicians” stated Dr. Islam.

Board-certified in family medicine, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Islam enjoys playing sports, traveling, spending time with family & friends, and watching Cardinals games. He is fluent in English and Bengali.
