Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Leonysia Watson, who serves patients in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

A North Carolina-based emergency physician, Dr. Watson is affiliated with Piedmont Emergency Department Gold Hill. She specializes in acute management of time sensitive illness and injury.

Graduating with her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, she went on to complete her residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP), she is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM).The ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty certification boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.

Among her other roles, Dr. Watson is a team member at the Nilda Foundation of Sickle Cell and Stroke, striving to serve the forgotten and increase awareness of sickle cell disease and stroke through international mission work, education and research.
