He subsequently pursued his residency at the renowned Emergency Hospital Dr. Clemente Alvarez, affiliated with the National University of Rosario. After becoming an orthopedic surgeon, he dedicated two years to specialized training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Argentina Society for Hand and Upper Extremity.

Kleinert Institute.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and hand surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
On a professional level, he is an active member of the Argentinian Society of Orthopedic Trauma, the Paraguayan Society of Anatomy and Morphology, the American Medical Association, the European Society of Wrist Arthroscopy, the International Society for Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injuries, the AO American Orthopedics (wrist and hand section), the Kleinert Society, the Argentinian Society of Hand Surgeons, the Argentinian Association of Orthopedic, and the Association of Orthopedic Surgeons of Rosario.
In 2012, Dr. Banegas embarked on a new chapter in his career at Denver Health Medical Center, a renowned trauma one center often referred to as the Knife and Gun Club. During his tenure, he established the peripheral nerve institute and played a crucial role in the reimplantation hand trauma team. Concurrently, he served as an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Orthopedics.
Throughout his academic journey, he has contributed significantly to the medical field. He has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters, sharing his expertise and advancements in orthopedic surgery. Additionally, he has trained and mentored numerous orthopedic residents and hand surgery fellows, nurturing the next generation of medical professionals.
