Dr. Barton Butterbaugh is a family practitioner practicing in PARKER, AZ. Dr. Butterbaugh specializes in comprehensive health care for people of all ages. In addition to diagnosing and treating illnesses, family practitioners also put focus on preventative care with routine checkups, tests and personalized coaching on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. He is a Life Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians; a Life Fellow of the American Colllege of Forensic Examiners; and a Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Medicine.
In his younger days after Surgical & ENT Residency Training; he served our country as a physician & surgeon with the U.S. Army Medical Corps (1978-1986) and served on Active Duty from 1983-1986. He is most proud of his honorable service in 1985, to the 192nd Calvary; the then largest Tank Brigade in the U.S. Army. He was awarded a full Army Comendation for his honorable and outstanding medical service to this venerable U.S. Army Brigade. After his service to our nation concluded in mid-1986, he returned home to his beloved State of Arizona, providing Emergency and Trauma care to many cities and towns in Northwestern, Southern, and Central Arizona for 14 years. Thereafter he started his Private Practice of Internal Medicine serving East Phoenix, Scottsdale, & Fountain HIlls, AZ; as well giving back to his beloved State of Arizona by providing quality medical care to underserved and rural areas of Central Arizona.
Dr. Butterbaugh's Family dates back to the time when Arizona was a territory (before 1912). He has a great love and inner connection to our beautiful State of Arizona, and feels it is a blessing to have had the privlege to practice medicine in many different areas of Arizona over his 38 year medical career serving the people of Arizona.

Dr. Butterbaugh is a very versatile physician with over four decades of practice experience spanning surgery, trauma & emergency medicine, family medicine, and medical pain management.
He is in private practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, serves as the General Manager at Sonoran Emergency Associates, P.L.C., and is on staff at La Paz Regional Hospital.
A 1981 graduate of the Creighton University School of Medicine, Dr. Butterbaugh received his post-graduate training at the Phoenix Integrated Surgical Residency with subsequent additional training in ear, nose, and throat surgery while on active duty at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. During his last two years of active military duty, he was called upon by the U.S. Army Medical Department to help form a Section of Emergency Medicine within the Department of Primary Care & Community Medicine at a Level I Army Trauma Center.
Upon leaving active military service in 1986, he continued his career as an emergency medicine specialist, actively practicing throughout Arizona, Texas, Southern Nevada, and New Mexico. Throughout his active EM years, he additionally served as an emergency medicine director and emergency department services contractor.
In 1998, Dr. Butterbaugh retired from active EM practice, to pursue private practice in family medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona. He also gives back to his beloved State of Arizona by providing quality medical care to underserved and rural areas of Central Arizona.
Staying current with the latest advancements in medicine, Dr. Butterbaugh is a Life Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, a Life Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, and a Certified Forensic Examiner. He is also a Diplomate of both the American Board of Forensic Medicine and the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
