Holding various distinguished roles, he is the Medical Director at Westgate Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Baltimore, the Renal Program Director at Orchard Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Towson, and the Director of Nephrology at Meadow Park Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Catonsville. 

Leading multiple renal programs across the Baltimore metropolitan area, Dr. Sewaralthahab is on a mission to manage and mitigate the progression of chronic kidney disease, with a special emphasis on those afflicted by renal conditions stemming from diabetes (diabetic nephropathy) and hypertension (hypertensive nephrosclerosis). He can also be found on staff at both MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center and MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.

His primary focus lies in managing Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) within the subacute and long-term care settings. He is particularly dedicated to enhancing outcomes and the quality of life for patients in this demographic. 

Academically, Dr. Sewaralthahab graduated with high honors from King Saud University, College of Medicine and moved to the United States where he became a Nephrology and Hypertension Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tufts University/St. Elizabeth Medical Center. During that time, he was involved in research studies investigating the effects of antihypertensive drugs and bicarbonate therapy on patients with chronic kidney disease.

Thereafter, Dr. Sewaralthahab completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, followed by his fellowship in nephrology and hypertension at Boston Medical Center. 

As a testament to his success, he is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care or kidney transplantation when it becomes necessary.
