A skilled internist, Dr. Clarke is the Medical Director of Windsor Gardens Care & Rehabilitation in East Orange, New Jersey.
Windsor Gardens Care & Rehabilitation was the first location in the Windsor Healthcare portfolio. It offers the highest quality care with friendly service and home-like amenities, as well as a newly renovated subacute wing. With a uniquely designed and recently refreshed building, it provides a wonderful environment for patients to get back on their feet, and has been serving the community since 1972 with a full range of nursing and rehabilitation services.
Born in Trench Town, Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Clarke attended Trench Town Comprehensive High School and Kingston Technical High School. After migrating to the United States in 1987, he attended Seton Hall University, majoring in Mathematics and Actuarial Science. He later attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, completing his medical education and his residency in internal medicine.
Upon completing his education, he opened his private practice, East Orange Medical Practice, where he specialized in opiate addiction medicine until 2019.
Presently, Dr. Clarke is the Associate Medical Director of New Vista Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and the Lead Physician in the Health and Wellness Alliance, a joint venture with the town of Orange and the St. Barnabas Health Care System in New Jersey. He can also be found on staff at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Clara Maass Medical Center, and Saint Michael’s Medical Center.
Among his prior academic appointments, he was a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at his alma mater, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, until 2019.
A longstanding member of Caribbean Medical Mission, Dr. Clarke felt like there was a need for a similar mission to Jamaica on a yearly basis. In 2010, he joined forces with Dr. Rudolph Willis and founded the HELP Jamaica Medical Mission. The mission has been going to Jamaica since its formation and has gone to over 50 communities and seen and treated over 18,000 patients.
They have also performed life saving surgeries both in Jamaica and the United States free of cost to the patient and have gone on to adopt the Linstead Hospital in St. Catherine, Jamaica, presently trying to acquire much needed equipment and supplies to donate on a yearly basis.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
In November 2009, Dr. Clarke was mentioned in “Top Doctors of New Jersey” for his work among Seniors in the State. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Congressional Award for Outstanding and Invaluable Service to the Community, Patients’ Choice Award (2016, 2015, 2014), On-Time Doctor Award (2016, 2015, 2014), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2016, 2014).
