Throughout his academic career, Dr. Balachandran graduated from Kannur University in India in 2005. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency at The Brooklyn Medical Center, where he was appointed chief resident for the residency program. Thereafter, he went on to complete his fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medical Center and at Mount Sinai-Beth Israel-Brooklyn Hospital Center, graduating as chief fellow.
He relocated to Huntsville in 2016 and has been providing cardiac care to patients in Madison County with services at Crestwood Medical Center and Huntsville Hospital. He has also co-authored many articles in scientific journals and has been actively involved in medical research.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the doctor is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who excel and strive to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
