Get to know Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Austin S. Adams, who serves patients in Birmingham, Alabama.

A skilled facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Adams works with patients alongside Dr. Daniel Rousso at their private practice – Rousso Adams Facial Plastic Surgery – in Birmingham, Alabama. He offers his patients the full spectrum of cosmetic facial plastic surgery, including the most advanced and up-to-date in-office treatments and surgical techniques. His practice primarily focuses on facial rejuvenation of the eyes, face, and neck while also specializing in both functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty (nose surgery). 

In addition, he has significant interest in reconstructive procedures of the face, neck, and scalp as well as hair restoration surgery for both men and women. He is also well versed in all neuromodulators and dermal fillers utilizing techniques that lead to beautifully natural results.

Graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in 2008, Dr. Adams earned his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2012, and completed his residency in otolaryngology at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 2017. Finally, he completed his fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Rousso Adams Facial Plastic Surgery in 2018.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is dual board-certified by the American Board of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He has also attained certification in  Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support.

An enthusiastic researcher, he has participated in clinical research and has been successful in producing several publications, including journal articles and book chapters during his studies and training. He has been published in the Annals of Plastic Surgery, Forum of Allergy and Rhinology, and the American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy.

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction, or alteration of the human body. It can be divided into two main categories: reconstructive surgery and cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery includes craniofacial surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns.

Among his most notable achievements, Dr. Adams is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, the Arnold P. Gold Foundation for Humanism in Medicine, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and was the recipient of the Harold G. Tabb Award in Otolaryngology.

Happily married, he has two children, a boy and a girl. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
