Get to know Physician Assistant Richelle M. Gaiter, who serves patients throughout California. 

Richelle juggles multiple roles in the healthcare field, working in a hybrid capacity. She serves as a physician associate/assistant at Stockton Community Medical Center, a clinical physician assistant at Wandering Docs Mobile Medicine, and also works as a physician assistant at GAPS Health. 

With a wealth of experience in locum work, Richelle has a passion for providing care to individuals of all ages, but she particularly enjoys working with older adults. She cherishes the exchange of life experiences and finds fulfillment in assisting those with strong opinions. 

Realistic yet optimistic, Richelle engages her patients in candid discussions about their circumstances while encouraging them to pursue the fullest life possible. She firmly believes that the more a patient understands about their medical conditions, the more motivated and equipped they will be to actively participate in their own health improvement. She has found that this approach not only improves patient outcomes but also fosters trust and strengthens the physician-patient relationship.

Academically, Richelle graduated with a Master’s in Education, Technology, and Design from Utah State University in 2008. She then completed a Physician Assistant program at the University of Utah in 2011, after which she pursued a Doctor of Medical Science in Physician Associate Advanced Clinical Practice at Rocky Mountain University, graduating in 2023.

A physician assistant is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. They examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests. In most cases, they work under the supervision of physicians or surgeons, but they can work more independently in some states, rural areas, and inner-city areas, consulting with physicians only when they need help with cases.

When Richelle is not helping patients, she enjoys learning new things, spending time on the water, and traveling, all of which she does with her miniature Shih Tzu, Ponyo.
