This is a tough question to answer. I generally tell my patients that teeth move around 1 mm per month. The father-son team treats all of their patients as if they were members of their very own family. Having lived in Columbia since 1993, Dr. Washington is a graduate of Spring Valley High School. He earned his undergraduate degree at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in 2005.
Following graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C. to attend Howard University College of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school with honors, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2010, he pursued his orthodontic residency program, also at Howard.
During residency training, Dr. Washington conducted extensive research work in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, some of which served as the focus of his thesis.
Continuously advancing his efforts, he is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society (National Dental Honor Society), and the Greater Columbia Dental Society.
