Get to know Respiratory Therapist Dr. Emiliano Gavidia, who serves the population of Middlesex, New Jersey. Emiliano graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with his Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy in 2006, giving him over a decades worth of experience in his field. He holds additional certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist. To stay up to date in his field he remains a professional member of the National Board for Respiratory Care. Emiliano currently practices with Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Where he performs test to evaluate and diagnose respiratory problems, and instruct the patients in the use of respiratory treatment aids and methods. He works within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, Emergency Room, and Long Term Care. Emiliano attributes his professional success to the satisfaction of treating babies and kids and seeing them go home. A respiratory therapist is a specialized healthcare practitioner trained in pulmonary medicine in order to work therapeutically with people suffering from pulmonary disease. Respiratory therapists are specialists and educators in many areas including cardiology, pulmonology, and sleep therapy. Respiratory therapists are clinicians trained in advanced airway management; establishing and maintaining the airway during management of trauma, and intensive care. Respiratory therapists initiate and manage life support for people in intensive care units and emergency departments, stabilizing, treating and managing pre-hospital and hospital-to-hospital patient transport by air or ground ambulance.
