Dr. Timoney is a surgeon serving New York and the surrounding communities. He is associated with NYU Langone Health – an academic medical center dedicated to service, teaching, and discovery daily through an integrated academic culture devoted to excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Dr. Timoney received his Medical Degree (MD) from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2003. He completed a residency in general surgery at SUNY Downstate in 2008 and a fellowship in surgery at Lutheran Medical Center in 2009. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer and NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn.

Dr. Timoney is board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery. The American Board of Surgery is an independent, nonprofit organization founded in 1937 to provide board certification to individuals who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge in the field of surgery.

Surgery is a healthcare subset concerned with the treatment of injuries or disorders of the body by incision or manipulation, especially with instruments. As a surgeon, Dr. Timoney specializes in abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas and often thyroid glands.

With over 6 years of experience in the field, Dr. Timoney has been the author of 13 peer reviewed publications, and is an adjunct professor in the department of surgery.
