  • Can laser eye surgery fix retinal tear?

Tears in the retina are like a rip in the wallpaper. Treatment with laser or freezing "cryopexy" is often promptly performed to lessen the risk of a retina detachment - the equivalent to the wallpaper coming off the wall. Retinal detachment repair is usually successful but much more complicated. See a retinal specialist as soon as possible to get the laser and avoid the retina detachment. If one eye is involved, the other is at risk also. *James* James M. • Should I go to the emergency room?

You may have a retinal detachment or bleeding in the eye and you should be seen by a retinal specialist withiin 24 hours if possible.. You should not do any reading or physical activities until you can see a retinal specialist. You should be at bedrest unti; you can be seen. You can call local retinal specialists and probably be seen in the morning or call the ER to see if one is available. READ MORE
