Can I exercise after a back adjustment?
Generally speaking, yes. Movement is life! Chiropractic is a practice based on proper alignment of the spine to allow for proper movement and bio-mechanics so that you can live your life to the fullest! Keep in mind that physical stress - good or bad - such as working out, will create stress on the spine, making Chiropractic care something you will want to keep up with along side of your workout! This is a great question for YOUR particular chiropractor who knows your individual case and your spinal needs. Best of luck! READ MORE
What is the difference between a physical therapist and a chiropractor?
The difference in Chiropractic and Physical therapy is the specificity of the adjustment that chiropractors perform. Physical therapists can help with the mobility and stability of joints by first and foremost addressing the musculature around bones and joints. Chiropractors deliver very specific adjustments to reinstate the proper alignment of specific bones and joints in specific directions. Chiropractor's doctorates are based in this bony alignment with a handful of classes on the therapies of the muscles. On the other hand, physical therapists' degrees are based on the soft tissue with maybe 1 or 2 classes on the bony manipulation. Manipulation is non-specific, the chiropractic adjustment is specific. Best of luck! READ MORE
Back pain for two months. What could be the cause?
Hi, yes you should see your doctor; more specifically, you should see your chiropractor. Unfortunately our past scrapes, falls, traumas, or even stresses to our lower backs don't get erased from our history after a few months. 40 is still young and vibrant, however you don't want to be dealing with pain and discomfort day in and day out. Your local chiropractor can take a thorough history, do a detailed examination, and take the proper images if your particular case dictates you need them. Best of luck with your back pain. READ MORE
