Dr. Ramlo is a psychologist with over 20 years of experience. She is currently serving patients at her private practice in Encino, California. She is trained to work with children, adults, families, and couples. Most recently, Dr. Ramlo began a position at the Reiss-Davis Child Study Center, teaching doctoral students how to work effectively with parents in the therapeutic setting.
Dr. Ramlo is extremely passionate about her work. She grew up in a family of psychoanalysts, so her life has been immersed in the workings of the mind. “My personal nature combined with superior training allows me to help people manage the complicated array of emotions that naturally occur among all of us. My postdoctoral training strengthened my ability to work effectively with children and their families, in addition to helping couples and parents. I will help you understand yourself and your relationships, so that you will be able to manage your feelings as opposed to experiencing that your feelings hold you hostage. It is then that you will feel more alive and more connected to yourself and your surroundings” as stated by Dr. Ramlo.
Dr. Ramlo earned her PhD in clinical psychology from the California Graduate Institute in Los Angeles in 1998. She spent her pre-doctoral hours working in nursing homes/mental institutions that housed elderly depressed patients, alzheimer patients, and middle-aged schizophrenic patients. She worked individually with depressed and psychotic patients, as well as led groups with alzheimer patients. Dr. Ramlo then went on to receive her postdoctoral hours from Reiss-Davis Child Study Center where she had extensive training working with children, adolescents, and families. Her work also included parenting and working with couples.
Dr. Ramlo is a member of the American Psychological Association and the California Psychological Association. Dr. Ramlo is currently active within the psychoanalytic community through the Psychoanalytic Center of California (PCC). In addition to several years of analytic supervision, the years of study at PCC have afforded her a certificate of completion in adult and child psychoanalysis. She has also completed a one-year program on substance abuse and has been trained in both psychopharmacology and neuro-psychology.
