Is it possible to stop panic attacks?
YES! Although you might be thinking that you're about to die (heart beating fast, racing intrusive thoughts, etc), in reality, your body and mind are in a "survival system" a.k.a. the sympathetic system is "on". There are ways to restructure your mind/cognitive thoughts. Try to engage in therapy to learn those skills, if possible. Be well. Should I see a psychiatrist for ADHD?
It depends. Hello. I'm Dr. Rosana Marzullo-Dove at Tampa Therapy and Wellness. If your daughter is a child, it might be worth talking to the school counselor first to see if they can test/assess her for symptoms of ADHD. After you get that result, you can set a plan with the school (Plan 504 or IEP) to see how they can help her. Another thing would be having her work with an ADHD specialist (therapist) to learn skills to deal with the issues. If this all fails, I'd recommend seeing a child psychiatrist for meds. If the person is an adult - a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist (specializing in ADHD) can help her. Be well READ MORE
Should I go to a doctor for a panic attack?
You should see a therapist (Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Counselor) to help you with panic attacks. You also could benefit from seeing a psychiatrist give you a (temporary) medication for anxiety. Panic attacks are a natural response to dangerous situations. If you are having it and you are not in danger, then you need to get skills to help yourself. Look for someone that you will like to work with. Be well. Dr. Rosana Marzullo-Dove Doctor of Clinical Psychology Tampa Therapy and Wellness (813) 530-5180 900 W. How can I control my anxiety?
Anxiety can be "controlled" by learning skills in treatment with a psychologist/therapist. Psychiatrists can give you medicine to help your anxiety to "calm down." But the medicine won't cure anxiety. It's only a band-aid per se. You will have to learn skills in therapy in order to control your anxiety. Consult with a therapist. READ MORE

Can couples therapy make things worse?
It depends on what you mean by worse. Yes, couples therapy can lead to separation and divorce, or worse, domestic abuse if that is what is happening already. So, couples' therapists are to be very professional, careful, and gentle in how to approach couples' issues. Think of a doctor who put an enormous flashlight to care for a neglected old wound. People at times do not like to have that old stuff come to light. The best part is that you can have clarity on what type of person you are having a relationship with and if that's what you want to continue, providing the person does not want to better themselves or the relationship. Be well. READ MORE
