Get to know Physiatrist Dr. Amy L. Fletcher-Foster, who serves patients in Oneonta, New York.

Expert physiatrist Dr. Fletcher-Foster is currently serving patients at The Arc Otsego in Oneonta, New York. Founded in 1965, The Arc Otsego offers comprehensive, community-based supports, programs, and services to individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families throughout Otsego County. The practice creates opportunities and provides supports to assist people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to fulfill their personal dreams and ambitions.

To stay up to date in her field, Dr. Fletcher-Foster is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy, and the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy. Dr. Fletcher-Foster holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica College in Utica, New York. 

Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities. Physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians, also known as physiatrists, treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. As a physiatrist, Dr. Fletcher-Foster specializes in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Dr. Fletcher-Foster attributes her success to her desire to be a better person each day and to help those who are in need. She receives endless support from husband in reaching her goals. Dr. Fletcher-Foster is married with two children. In her spare time, she can be found in the garden, at the beach or on a cruise ship.
