Get to know Orthodontist Dr. Sherry Rajaei, who serves the population of Maryland.

Dr. Sherry Rajaei is an orthodontist with Main Street Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics, and Kids Dental Clinic in Germantown, MD.

Kids Dental Clinic has been serving the Germantown and surrounding communities in Montgomery County since the year 2000. Their doctors take pride in providing quality dental care, with comfort and convenience of their patients being their primary goal. As the patient population matured, they began to see adult patients in the practice. Dr. Rajaei has been taking care of the orthodontic needs of patients since 2011. She has created several beautiful smiles in this time period.

Dr. Rajaei earned her undergraduate degree in biological sciences from the University of Alberta. In 2007 she graduated from Boston University and graduated magna cum laude with her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree. To achieve a Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree students generally, need a four-year undergraduate education. Afterward, they go to dental school for another four years of educational, clinical, and dental laboratory training. After graduating with a dentistry degree, dentists have to pass rigorous examinations. In the United States, dentists must pass the National Board Dental Examinations, a national written exam. They also have to pass a state exam to be licensed to practice there. With such extensive education and examination requirements, patients can rest assured that any dentist with a DMD degree is well qualified.

Following her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree, Dr. Rajaei earned a Master of Science and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Orthodontics at Boston University in 2010. Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws. An orthodontist is an expert who diagnoses and treats overbites, occlusions, misaligned teeth and jaws, and overcrowded mouths. If left untreated, all of these problems can grow worse over time.
