Dr. Yolanda J. Seliga is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine practicing in Park Ridge, IL at Healing Point Wellness Center. Evaluations are completed through assessment of the patient's past health history and familial history, assessment of current symptoms and concerns, tongue and pulse diagnosis, as well as abdominal diagnosis and palpation. This all leads to a working diagnosis in which the practitioner selects specific acupoints on the body. Stimulating these points is how Dr. Seliga treats the patient's condition. Each treatment is individualized specifically to your needs and may include acupuncture or acupressure, herbal formulas, and Chinese adjunctive modalities, including cupping, guasha, and/or moxibustion, in order to bring you to optimal health and wellness.

Is acupuncture good for heel pain?
Hello & thank you for your question! Yes, acupuncture is beneficial for heel pain! Why do I have chronic stomach pain?
Hello & thank you for your question! Often times, when all of the physical tests show no obvious cause, the concern is due to an energetic imbalance. Due to the chronicity of your stomach pain, you will probably need 8-12 treatments to notice more substantial changes, though you should notice minor improvements along the way. With acupuncture, we are activating your body's healing mechanisms, as the body naturally wants to heal itself and bring the body into balance or homeostasis. Acupuncture gives the body additional energy and resources to allow for proper function, thereby alleviating symptoms that you may have. READ MORE
How are you supposed to feel after acupuncture?
Hello & thank you for your question! After acupuncture, you should feel relaxed and at ease, but depending on your chief complaint and symptomology, you may also leave with energy - this just varies from person to person. You should also notice an improvement in sleep. Occasionally, people may feel some lightheadedness after their treatment, which is usually a result of the acupuncture moving energies and fluids within the body that may have been stuck for quite some time, but this should be minor and temporary, usually helped with hydration and time, and maybe a piece of dark chocolate! To help avoid this, be sure to eat a protein-snack prior to your appointment, or a light meal 1 hr prior. READ MORE
