Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Elizabeth Yim, who serves patients in the State of California.
Dr. Yim is a board-certified dermatologist who is experienced in providing excellent treatment for conditions of the skin, hair, and nails. She is affiliated with UCLA Health, more specifically UCLA Health Burbank Primary & Specialty Care, Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. She is also a Health Sciences Clinical Instructor of Medical Dermatology at UCLA Dermatology in Los Angeles, California.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Master of Public Health degree from Drexel University, Dr. Yim went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in 2015. A year later, she completed her internship in internal medicine at the UC Irvine Medical Center, followed by her residency in dermatology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in 2019.
That very same year, she became board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, which is one of the 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties. For the purpose of staying up to date in her field, she remains a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatological Surgery, the Medical Dermatology Society, and Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Yim has also served as the Executive Student Director and Public Health Director of Medical Students in Action, which is a non-profit organization of physicians, medical students, and high school students who are dedicated to improving the standards of healthcare in underserved rural villages in the Dominican Republic. She currently serves as a volunteer dermatologist, helping the very population she served as a medical student.
