  • How are acupuncture needles removed from your ear?

I'm not sure which kind of ear needles you are asking about. If they are temporary just during your visit, I simply pull them out using the handle on the needle. If you are speaking of the needles that are left in for a few days or weeks, then we use tweezers to remove them. Hope that helps Rawls Whittlesey, L. Ac. READ MORE

  • How long do the effects of acupuncture last for anxiety?

The effects should last longer with each treatment. Everyone is different, but for example, you may get one day of relief (or several days) with the first treatment, and it should last longer with each treatment. However, the treatments need to be closer together in the beginning. I recommend treatment at least twice weekly to start and suggest you give it at least 6 treatments before you decide if it's working for you. Rawls Whittlesey, L. Ac. READ MORE

  • Can acupuncture cause miscarriage in early pregnancy?

There are acupuncture points that are contraindicated in pregnancy and acupuncturists will avoid using those points. In general, it is very safe and can be very beneficial for those who are having morning sickness, are at risk for miscarriage, or are having pain during pregnancy. It is frequently used during the latter stages of pregnancy to prepare the mothers body for labor and delivery. Rawls Whittlesey, L. Ac. READ MORE

In the final trimester, I would be helping you prepare for childbirth or address any issues such as back pain, indigestion or breech positioning.
