  • How do you treat viral pink eye?

There is no well established treatment for viral conjunctivitis. The most important thing is to avoid contaminating the other eye or infecting your close contacts. Hand hygiene is essential. Symptoms can be improved by using artificial tears but that will not make the virus go away sooner. READ MORE

  • What kind of sedation is used for cataract surgery?

The anesthesia is called “monitored anesthesia care”. This is in contrast to general anesthesia which involves a machine breathing for you. Beyond that, most cataract surgeons use a combination of topical medications as well as medicine that goes into the eye during surgery. READ MORE

  • Does glaucoma cause watery eyes?

No. Many patients with glaucoma do have watery/irritated eyes, which can be caused by the medications and treatments for glaucoma. However, glaucoma does not cause watery eyes in isolation. READ MORE

  • Can glaucoma be cured from surgery?

Glaucoma can be treated, and one of the ways it can be treated is surgery. There are also eye drops which can help lower pressure as well as laser treatments. It is a chronic condition like diabetes or high blood pressure that needs to be managed and followed by a doctor READ MORE

  • Can I rub my eyes with contacts?

Rubbing your eyes is never a good idea, and probably worse in contact lenses. The first thing I would recommend is using artificial tears, but the real question is- why are you rubbing your eyes? A good eye exam should help figure that out. READ MORE

  • What happens if you blink during laser eye surgery?

Your physician will place a speculum, which is effectively a spring, to keep you from blinking during the procedure. READ MORE

  • What helps red eyes fast?

The best thing to do is to figure out WHY your eyes are red. An eye exam with a knowledgeable provider will help. Better to fix the root of the problem than the symptoms. READ MORE

  • How do you stop the spread of conjunctivitis?

If you have viral conjunctivitis, the recommendations are for diligent hand hygiene. The viral particles from one eye can spread to the other eye if you are not careful. READ MORE

  • Is it a blood clot or pink eye?

If your father is on a blood thinning medication, like aspirin it is more common to have subconjunctival hemorrhage. a subconjunctival hemorrhage will clear in 7-14 days. READ MORE

  • How do you stop dry eyes at night?

The simplest treatment for dry eyes is artificial tears, but if you are chronically bothered, an eye exam in the office is very helpful. READ MORE
