Can a chiropractor help with a fractured vertebrae?
Hey there! So, your question has multiple different factors we must look at. First off, there's no undoing a fractured vertebrae. Once there's a fracture, the bone must be given time to heal properly. What a chiropractor can help with is going to be the symptoms that come with that fractured vertebrae, including segmental disfunction, muscle spasms, etc. We can help stabilize your spinal column to ensure 2 things: 1) that your body is able to heal itself in its current acute condition; 2) to make sure your body is operating at its optimal function to prevent further breakdown of your musculoskeletal system! I hope that answers your question! READ MORE
How can I crack my lower back like a chiropractor?
Hi there! When a Chiropractor goes to make an adjustment, he is doing so with a specific goal in mind. We look for restrictions in movement within the vertebral column or extremities. This is only done after we have completed a thorough exam on the patient. The answer to your question is, it's really not possible to achieve the same adjustment by yourself that you would with a trained doctor who knows exactly what segments need to move. Just because we can twist our backs and hear noises does it mean those noises are doing the same thing that happens when you get a chiropractic adjustment. READ MORE
How do you stretch your lats?
Hi there! To learn how to stretch any muscle, all you need to do is think about how you would workout that muscle and do the opposite motion. for example to work out your bicep you would do an action that causes you to flex your elbow bringing your hand upward, such a stretch that muscle you would do the exact opposite which would be extension of the elbow bringing your hand down towards the floor straightening your arm. To work out the latissimus dorsi you start with your arms over head and pulled down towards the floor, so we'll flip that to stretch it. I usually tell my patients to find some sort of overhanging ledge or a bar that's higher than your head grab it with your arms and sink down with a bending motion away from the side you want to stretch!
