Dr. Rachel Epstein is one of a very select few dermatologists on the West Coast of Florida who is fellowship trained in Mohs micrographic surgery, the most effective and precise treatment for certain skin cancers. After residency, Dr. Epstein went on to complete a prestigious one year ACGME procedural dermatology fellowship in Mohs, reconstructive and cosmetic dermatologic surgery. She has successfully completed thousands of Mohs surgery procedures with advanced reconstructions. Dr. Epstein has been recognized by both her peers and her patients for excellence in her specialty. She has been named as Patients’ Choice Award and Compassionate Doctor Award in 2017 and 2018. In addition to her work with patients, Dr. Epstein has been the recipient of national awards for her lectures and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks.

Committed to a lifetime of healthy beautiful skin, she welcomes all ages for extensive expertise on skin cancer detection, prevention and treatments. Dr. Epstein also provides high quality aesthetic and general medical dermatology services. In addition to her artistic eye and surgical precision, she values her patients’ trust and comfort, and is dedicated to delivering the highest level of care in an ethical and compassionate setting.

Acne to eczema to skin cancers and beyond, there is no problem too big or too small for Dr. Epstein and her team to manage. She utilizes her world-class education, down-to-earth bedside manner, and love of teaching to help her patients understand and treat their skin disorders.
A Tampa Bay native, Dr. Epstein earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in biology and exercise physiology with a minor in chemistry and art at the University of Miami. She then completed medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating with highest honors. Following medical school, she completed an internship at Sun Coast Hospital/Largo Medical Center. She then became co-chief resident, completing her residency in dermatology at Largo Medical Center/Bay Pines VA. Thereafter, she went on to complete a highly competitive procedural dermatology fellowship, emphasizing skin oncology, Mohs micrographic surgery, laser, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. She continues to contribute her knowledge as a volunteer instructor for medical students and residents.
Dr. Epstein has successfully completed thousands of Mohs surgery procedures and advanced reconstructions. She is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery (FACMS), American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD) and the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (FAOCD). She is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association, the Florida Society for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and the Pinellas County Osteopathic Medical Society.

In her free time, Dr. Epstein loves being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends and family, especially her husband and their three young children. She is an avid fitness enthusiast and enjoys pilates, barre, and yoga. She is a former junior olympic swimmer and junior national triathlon champion.
