Academically, Dr. Huddleston IV began his journey into plastic surgery by obtaining a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His next step was attending and graduating from medical school at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. After that, he headed out of the state, traveling to Ohio, where he completed his residency in plastic surgery at the Case Western Reserve University Affiliated Hospital in Cleveland.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), he is board-certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Understanding the importance of maintaining professional certification, Dr. Huddleston IV currently holds membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Tennessee American Medical Association, and the Sullivan County Medical Society. He also maintains active staff privileges in plastic surgery at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Indian Path Medical Center, and Kingsport Day Surgery Center.
Continually staying up-to-date with the current trends and education associated with the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery in Tennessee, he teaches at the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University (ETSU) as a Clinical Professor of Surgery. He desires to share his knowledge and expertise with upcoming surgeons so that the residents of East Tennessee will always have excellent medical care in their hometown.
