    A spot on the liver is a way of explaining an abnormal imaging study, particularly if unclear what kind of abnormality that is.   • Fatty Liver?

    You have risk factors for fatty liver. In fatty liver, it is very important to control those risk factors such including the diabetes and cholesterol. Your fibroscan shows severe fat content, but minimal to no scarring, assuming that the interpretation chart on that machine is the same as on the one I use. As far as monitoring, it's always good to repeat the fibroscan every 1-2 years to reassess. With respect to the pain, as much as it seems that the liver pain is due to the right sided location, it is infrequently due to the liver. More common is related to things like constipation as the colon makes a sharp turn under the liver area, it can be residual pain from pneumonia irritating the lining of your chest, muscle pain, gallbladder pain, etc. The specifics of the pain can help identify the cause, but at times, additional testing is needed.  READ MORE

    It all depends on the cause and whether it is acute or acute on chronic. For instance, liver failure from Tylenol/acetaminophen many times resolves with supportive care, other causes may need a liver transplant.
