Get to know Physician Assistant Kadejah Lawrence, who serves patients in Oakhurst, New Jersey.

Kadejah is a certified physician assistant who specializes in preventing and treating human illness and injury by providing a broad range of care under the supervision of a physician. With an interest in urgent care / emergency medicine, she is affiliated with Family First Urgent Care in Oakhurst, New Jersey. 

Prior to her current endeavors, she served as a Behavioral Assistant at Youth Consultation Services in the southern region of New Jersey (May 2016 – May 2017) and as an Emergency Room Technician at Bayshore Community Health Services in Holmdel, New Jersey (June 2016 – December 2017). 

As for her academic background, Kadejah graduated with top GPA from summer program at LTC Career Training with a license and certificate as a nurses aid. She then went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Health Services / Allied Health / Health Sciences from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey in 2013, followed by her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Thomas Jefferson University in 2019. In between, in 2016, she completed her emergency medical technical training at Jersey Shore Hospital.

In order to stay up to date in her field, she remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Alpha Lambda Delta. She also holds certificates in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CPR & AED through the American Heart Association.

A physician assistant is a health care practitioner who practices medicine in collaboration with physicians. They examine patients, prescribe medicine, and order diagnostic tests. In most cases, they work under the supervision of physicians or surgeons, but they can work more independently in some states, rural areas, and inner-city areas, consulting with physicians only when they need help with cases.
