Get to know Dermatologist Dr. Katherine A. Orlick, who serves patients in Tucson, Arizona.

As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Orlick specializes in pediatric dermatology, as well as general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology in adult populations. She is one of the Founders of Foothills Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery in Tucson, Arizona.

Working alongside Dr. Jerold Olson, the doctor-duo performs treatments including injectable dermal fillers, hair restoration, facelift, rhinoplasty, and CoolSculpting®. They serve Tucson and the surrounding communities, including Green Valley, Sierra Vista, Saddlebrooke, Sahuarita, and Casas Adobes.

Following the completion of her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, Dr. Orlick went on to receive her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, graduating with high honors. She then returned to Arizona to complete a pediatric residency at the University of Arizona, receiving several teaching awards in the process. She also completed a second residency in dermatology at the same educational venue. 

Upon completing her medical training, she began practicing dermatology in Tucson. She served as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Arizona for approximately one and a half years before joining a local large dermatology group. In the fall of 2007, she, with long-time friend and mentor Dr. Olson, founded Foothills Dermatology and Facial Plastic Surgery. 

A Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Tucson Dermatology Society, the doctor is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is a voluntary, non-profit, private, autonomous organization formed for the primary purpose of protecting the public interest by establishing and maintaining high standards of training, education, and qualifications of physicians rendering care in dermatology.

Furthermore, Dr. Orlick is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, which exists to support and encourage the best possible health care for children by setting standards for medical training, assessing levels of competence, and encouraging pediatricians to stay up to date with medical knowledge and best practices.

Throughout her line of work, she has been involved with several volunteer organizations in Tucson, including staffing an annual skin cancer screening clinic at the Arizona Desert Museum.

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body. Dermatology is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.

From 2015-2018, Dr. Orlick was selected each year by her fellow physicians as one of the Best Doctors in America®. On a more personal note, Dr. Orlick has been married for over 20 years to LTC Douglas Little, MD, who is a Concierge Physician at Executive Healthcare & Aviation Medicine, and previously was the State Surgeon for the Arizona Army National Guard. They live in Tucson with their four children, where Dr. Orlick enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her family.
